YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday ridiculed the Delhi tour of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu saying he had failed to put forth the case on the Special Category Status at the NITI Ayog meeting. Addressing a large public meeting here, Mr. Jagan asked how the Chief Ministers of all other States and the Prime Minister could respond to the SCS while Mr. Naidu was claiming that AP was thriving with 10.5% growth rate against the country’s 7%.

He showered boons on the farming community during his Praja Sankalpa Yathra in Konaseema like interest-free loans and free power for nine hours to farmers in day time. He said ?12,500 would be given to each farmer as input cost per acre in May before the khariff season. He also promised that ?3,000 crore price stabilisation fund would be set up and Calamity Relief Fund with ?4,000 crore with a Central share of ?2,000 crore. He said 90% subsidy would be given for purchase of livestock.

To strengthen dairies in the cooperative sector, he said subsidy of ?4 per each litre would be given to farmers who sell milk to them. Borewells would be dug up free of cost in the fields and power would be supplied to aqua farmers at ?1.50 per unit. He lamented that the farmers from even the Konaseema region were migrating to other places due to failure of the government and added that no water was available for fields in the tail-end areas during the rabi season.
