They seek resolution of their pending demands over pension, transfers, appraisal methods

About 1,500 teachers boycotted the SSC spot evaluation here on Tuesday pressing for their pending demands on a call by the Federation of A.P. Teachers’ Organisations and the Joint Action Committee of Teachers’ Organisations.

In a protest meeting at the Montessori high school here, leaders of the teachers’ associations Hrudayaraj, Satyanarayana and Ratnam Yesepu demanded scrapping of performance-based points and web counselling for their transfers, external evaluation and appointment of headmasters as deputy education officers.

They also demanded payment of salary arrears of aided and municipal school teachers, release of PRC arrears and two DA instalments, settlement of service rules of municipal teachers and combined service rules. Maintenance of records and online updating under the CCE mode was burdensome, they said. They charged the State government with being adamant in settling the demands of teachers.

Lopsided methods

Meanwhile, 1,800 teachers in Kadapa district also boycotted spot evaluation at the St. Joseph English Medium High School.

Exercising options in web counselling, performance based points were lopsided and there was no system to monitor their genuineness, said FAPTO State co-chairman Narayana Reddy in Kadapa.

Payment for evaluation
