Rowdy-sheeter killed over illicit affair, two held

SRIKAKULAM : Police on Tuesday cracked the murder mystery of Panchadi Kali Prasad, a rowdy-sheeter and arrested two persons in related to the case, at Korlakota of Amdadalavalasa. 


The accused have been identified as Pedada Laxmana Rao and Pedada Sankar Rao, both siblings and residents of Korkakota.


“They killed the rowdy-sheeter as the latter had an illegal affair with their sister Bharathi,” SP J Brahma Reddy old the media. Kali Prasad, hailing from Vizianagaram, had settled down at Korkakota.


He was allegedly involved in many cases of property grabbing, thefts, robberies, harbouring criminals reported from Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. As many as nine cases in Vizianagaram and one at Srikakulam One Town and Amadalavalasa police stations each were registered against him.  


Kali Prasad was having an illegal affair with their sister and he was living with her in Visakhapatnam for a while as her husband Venkanna was working as a teacher in Manchiryala. Having five cents of land in Amadalavalasa town, the family members of the accused developed a rivalry among each other and Bharathi sought support from Kali Prasad in this regard, SP said. 


Kali Prasad was also managing the cable TV business run by P Venkata Ramana Rao and finance business of P Sankara Rao.


Vexed with the involvement of Kali Prasad in their family matter, the brothers duo killed him near Shyamalamba tank at Korlakota on March 23 evening. Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s wife Suguna, police started investigation and nabbed the accused. DSP Bhargav Rao Naidu, CI Naveen Kumar and Appala Naidu were also present.


Two juveniles held, nine bikes recovered Srikakulam: Police on Tuesday detained two juveniles and seized nine bikes and 54 batteries stolen by them in the last few months from Srikakulam and Amadalavalasa.
