Congress conducts public ballot on TDP poll promises

VIJAYAWADA : AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Saturday alleged that the Telugu Desam Party, which had demanded Special Category Status (SCS) during the State bifurcation, is now chanting the mantra of special financial package for monetary benefits.


He was participating in the launch of the public ballot conducted here on the 600 promises made by the TDP government during the 2014 elections.


Digvijay said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has mortgaged the development opportunities of Andhra Pradesh and compromised with the Centre on SCS for monetary commissions.  He assured that the Congress party will fight for the SCS.


APCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy said that the public ballot has been conducted in all 13 districts of the State.


Earlier in the day, the APCC coordination committee meeting chaired by Digvijay Singh has passed a resolution to release a people’s charge sheet against the failures of TDP government.
