As many as two lakh devotees are expected to have darshan of Sri Suryanarayana Swamy in Arasavalli, India’s famous Sun God temple located in Srikakulam district, on the auspicious Rathasaptami to be celebrated on January 24.


Devotees from different parts of the country give utmost priority to have darshan on the particular day hoping that the Sun God would bless them with health and wealth. The special prayers will begin on January 23rd night itself with beginning of ‘Ksheerabhisekham’ to the presiding deity.


The people, who buy ?216 ‘Ksheerabhisekham’ tickets will be allowed to see the special puja between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. The devotees can have ‘Nijarupa darshan’ from 6 a.m. onwards.


Temple Executive Officer V. Shyamala Devi said that the donors who contributed ?1 lakh for ‘Annadanam’ will be given special passes to ensure ‘darshan’ for their family members. She said that passes would be given for those who would donate to the temple till January 10. Chief priest Ippili Sankar Sarma said that cultural programmes would also be arranged in the evening.


Meanwhile, Srikakulam Collector K. Dhananjaya Reddy who reviewed the arrangements, asked the officials of the endowments, revenue, police and other departments to have perfect coordination to ensure hassle-free darshan on the auspicious day.
